This large oak tree was taken down in a nearby garden. It was then milled on site, into 3 inch slabs. 

I made a pair of substantial tables with two of the slabs - see also Large Oak Table (2).

Each of the slabs, post trimming, measured 12 foot 6 inches long X 3 foot 4 inches wide and had natural wavy edges.

The table frame was also made of oak as it had to be strong enough to support the substantial weight of the tabletop.
